Small to Medium Meetings
- Many public libraries have small rooms you can use for free.
Large Meetings - 150+
In general, the closer to downtown Seattle the more expensive. Hotels tend to be more expensive also and you should watch for hidden costs.
Bell Harbor - recommended by Brady Forrest
The Museum of Flight has worked well for the Puget Sound Research Forum's bi-annual conferences - recommended by Mike Pritchard
Youngstown cultural center - recommended by Mike Pritchard
MOHAI (not sure about breakouts there) - recommended by Mike Pritchard
Palace Ballroom: Poor audio. TechStars had an event there last year and it worked out pretty well because everyone was sitting on chairs, but TechFlash had two events there that I couldn't hear a thing. - Marcelo Calbucci
Olive 8 Hyatt has several rooms and since it's a new-ish hotel, they might be willing to negotiate more. Same thing for the Hyatt in Bellevue which opened a huge new section. Suggested by Marcelo Calbucci
IMAX at Pacific Science Center (Boeing IMAX or Eames IMAX), or the Ackerley Room - they provide chairs, but you have to come up with AV. Marcelo Calbucci
The Seattle Aquarium also is a neat place. Suggested by Marcelo Calbucci
There are also many movie theaters, like Golden Cinema, ACT Theater and others who rent their space. Suggested by Marcelo Calbucci
Restaurants with private dining
Coffee shops
- Uptown espresso, about a block south of the Petra Bistro has a room with a table that will hold closer to 10. Its a separate room and you can reserve it. www.uptownespresso.net
- Espresso Vivace across from REI (on Yale street I think) if you don't need to have food they have a closed off meeting room. Both Vivace Espresso locations have a separated room you can reserve – at South Lake Union, and Broadway. No food, though.
- There's a nice room at the back of Bedlam Coffee in Belltown. You can reserve it on the calendar in advance.
Restaurants
- Tap House (very close to the CBS Sports place) – they have a huge beer selection and private rooms off of the dining area. Smallest room is for 30 people.
- Hale's Ale's has an upstairs dining room that AFAIK is idle most daytimes. No public wifi though. Near Fremont.
- Montlake Ale House, other then Friday, Sat, and Tuesdays. So little traffic, it always feels empty. Open evenings only.
- Purple wine bar upstairs in back
- Elemental at gas works park, long table in tapas area.
- Maggiano's Little Italy in downtown Bellevue for this kind of meeting -- they have a couple of sections for 4-10 people that they section off with a heavy curtain. No extra charge, and there's 3 hours validated parking. The manager is Paul Bardzik, 425-519-6476.
- Twist in Belltown has a back nook that can be sectioned off. Open evenings only.
- Amber has an upstairs where you guys could meet and eat. Open evenings only.
- Sante Fe Café in Greenwood - www.santafecafeseattle.com/ [DougHanhart] Evenings and weekend lunches only.
- Latona Tavern at 65th and Latona. The food is pretty spectacular (I go there about once a week), and they have an upstairs section, which they open if it’s busy enough that has 2 bigger tables. You could call and ask if they might open it for you on a weeknight
- Dad Watsons in Fremont has some boothes in the back which are quite secluded from the rest of the place. They have tasty beverages for when you're finished with your scheming.
